Why should I refer my
delinquent accounts to CCI via MD-COLLECT?
Regardless of your diligent efforts to collect on a bill, there
are some patients who simply will not respond to statements sent
from their physician's office. As a debt collector specializing in healthcare
collections, CCI can often get responses from those patients who have ignored your
internal efforts.

When should you use
MD-COLLECT?
After you have exhausted your internal collection efforts. For
best results and to avoid a negative impact on your relationship
with your patients, we recommend that you do not submit accounts
that are less than 60 days of age or before you have had any
contact with the patient.

How many patient accounts can I
submit?
There is no minimum nor maximum usage requirement.

What kind of accounts should I
submit?
Use MD-COLLECT to submit self-pay accounts only. If an account
has an insurance balance pending or some other balance due from
a third party, the account should not be submitted to
MD-COLLECT. You should wait until there is only a patient
balance due and you have exhausted your own internal collection
efforts. We collect only from
individuals who reside within the U.S., except residents of Hawaii and Wyoming.
Additionally, please do not submit accounts when you have received notice or information regarding any of the following:
Bankruptcy proceedings involving the debtor/patient
State insolvency proceedings involving the debtor/patient
Attorney representation of the debtor/patient
Death of the debtor/patient
The account represents services, other than deductibles, copayments, and/or coinsurance, covered under any governmental health care program
The account is for services covered under any state worker's compensation law
A request from the debtor/patient that no further collection letters be sent to him or her to a specified address.

What kind of patient
information does MD-COLLECT need?
You will only need to enter the most basic information when
submitting the account. You will be prompted to enter the
patient's name, guarantor's name, mailing address, amount due
and date of service.

What happens when I submit
accounts to CCI via MD-COLLECT?
The first in a series of five collection letters is mailed
within 24-48 hours of submission. This action will be indicated in
the account activity. Subsequent letters will be mailed at
14-day intervals.
When you submit an account to CCI via MD-COLLECT, your patients will receive up to five collection letters. Each collection letter clearly indicates that Computer Credit, Inc., a debt collector, has been employed by your office and strongly encourages prompt account resolution. The name MD-COLLECT and the internet address www.md-collect.com will not appear on the collection letters. The MD-COLLECT web site serves as an electronic vehicle to submit accounts, as well as manage accounts submitted, to Computer Credit, Inc. for collection. Letters comply with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.

How often should I update or
post activity to my patient accounts?
Not only will you update your patient accounts, but so will CCI
Collection Representatives. So, you should make MD-COLLECT part
of your daily routine. Even if you don't have an account to
submit, you need to log in into MD-COLLECT to monitor your
active accounts at least once each business day.

How will my Spanish-speaking patients be able to respond to CCI collection letters?
When submitting patients for referral through the MD-COLLECT site, you may choose "letter language" from a drop down menu on the Add Patients screen. Selecting English Only will generate collection letters entirely in English. English/Spanish will generate collection letters that are half English and half Spanish. CCI employs billingual collection representatives who are available to assist Spanish-speaking callers responding to our collection letters. Collection representatives are available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST, Monday through Friday.

Why am I required to fax a copy of a
current state medical license from any one physician in my
practice to MD-COLLECT during the registration process?
This requirement is in place to reduce the likelihood of
fraudulent or criminal usage of MD-COLLECT. For the protection
of our clients, their patients, and our employees, we want to
ensure that any individual using MD-COLLECT to submit accounts
to CCI for collection truly represents a physician and/or
physician practice.

MD-COLLECT has no minimum volume commitment. If you should
desire to discontinue use of the MD-COLLECT service, simply
cease submitting new debtor accounts to MD-COLLECT and contact
MD-COLLECT Customer Service to have your account disabled.
